real life mathematics....

RSV + Pneumonia + Influenza type A =

He had to wear a mask if we wanted to go on walks so he wouldn't give anyone the flu. Poor baby. He was such a good sport about it though!!

This is right after he got his IV in at the ER. He was on oxygen because his levels were in the high 70's low 80's. What a little trooper!

RSV + Influenza type A + Influenza type B =

The nurses made me strip him down so they could watch him breathe. It was so sad!!

This is after he got his IV in too. It was pretty upsetting.

Is that not just pitiful? I took the boys to the doctor on Monday because they had been coughing and my mom noticed that Clay had been having a hard time breathing. The doctor suggested breathing treatments and told me to take Clay to the urgent care for a "deep suction" of his nose. Tuesday they both sounded worse and Clay had been running a fever in the middle of the night so we went BACK to the doctor. She told us to take the boys to the ER. So off we went. The boys were admitted that night and given breathing treatments and antibiotics round the clock. And THEN I decided that since I too was having some breathing issues to run down to the adult ER to see how I was doing and it turns out I have bronchitis that is on the verge of becoming pneumonia. Thankfully I got put on some antibiotics as well and now we are all back home resting and recovering. We are such extremists. We are either really boring or really exciting. I told both boys that since they were both admitted to the hospital that this is the ONLY time all year that they are allowed to be sick. We'll see how that goes! More updates and pictures when we are all feeling better and have gotten more sleep. Being sick is hard work!

  4. I'm so glad that you are all back home. I've been thinking about you all week. I almost sent flowers to your hospital room, but then realized what a dumb idea that was for people with allergies who were already having breathing problems.

I love you and think you are doing a great job as Mom to those two dear boys. Good luck sweetie. You are all in our prayers.
