Things I LOVE vs. Things I loathe

Things I loathe:

1. Car Accidents and people who can't drive. Seriously. The guy who CUTS ME OFF to turn less than a quarter of a mile away when there is a gap behind me that is THIS BIG really makes me mad. Also road construction makes me mad when I can't turn the way I need to, to get wherever it is I might be going. Dear ADOT.... you suck.

Things I love:

1. Driving! I like road trips, trips to the grocery store. I just like driving. Yep.

Things I love:

2. Grapes. I think they are quite fun to eat and they are pretty and delicious. Yup.

Things I loathe:

2. Grape juice and/or soda. YUCKY. For real people. Neither grape juice nor grape soda actually taste like a grape. Therefore they are tainting that wonderful grapes name. Shame on you....

Things I loathe:

3. Orange Soda. Groooooooooooooooooooooooooooooss. I honestly want to know who decided to market this. Orange juice is AMAZING. Orange juice makes lots of things taste better. Like berry syrup (it's true... try it), pancakes, waffles, smoothies. Just makes it better. Orange soda? Makes me weep for those poor little oranges who are having their identity stolen.

Things I love:

3. Oranges. Hellooooooooo? Oranges are amazing. Growing up in AZ we were always surrounded by the orchards and every Christmas, Santa would give us a nice juicy little navel orange that he found on a neighbors tree. Oranges rock. Correction- citrus rocks.

I am random. I know. But you like it. I also hate (oops! I meant loathe, disdain) celebrities but I love watching Access Hollywood. I am so pathetic. I love pistachios. I hate hate HATE that there are pistachio flavored puddings and ice cream. It makes me tummy rumble. And not in the hungry way.

I absolutely love reading a good book. I will get the bath water nice and hot and soak my toes and just read till the water is cold with a wonderful book that makes you use your imagination and paints such a beautiful story with elegant words. I love getting to know the characters and siding with them. However... I very much so dislike when a movie is made and adapted after a book that I find fascinating and the movie makes me want to erase that part of my memory that saw said movie because it has now and forever tarnished the book in a minor way. Yep. At my house growing up if a movie came out based on a book one of the conditions of seeing said movie was that you had to read the book first. We went to Franklin Elementary and were used to reading so fear not- this was not a punishment. So imagine my horror when all of the books that I have read and love have crap-tastic movie versions floating around. Oh well.

I love old musicals. Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, Doris Day, Petula Clark, Tommy Steele, Julie Andrews, Dick van Dyke, Walter Brennan and lots more. I am not a fan of the new "musicals" some studios are coming up with. Maybe I will have to work in Hollywood and either be the casting director person or the person who vetos all the crappy ideas. I just don't know. Since I am on this movie tangent I do love the majority of movies but I definitely don't love that in most of the PG-13 movies there is always some sex scene of sorts. Really people? It most likely has nothing to do with the story line and is probably not relevant at all the plot or anything yet you have to throw some random cleavage or bedroom scene in there? No thanks.

Anyway.... I think that's all of the random stuff on my mind today! Oh and I made tamales today! Woohoo!

  1. I actually love grape soda. I have NO IDEA WHY, though. I don't drink it very often. In fact, the last grape soda I had was in January, during my son's second hospitalization. But I definitely like grapes more. But orange soda? Reminds me of the gestational diabetes test. BARF.

Also, I have the same problem as you with reading-the-book-first-and-then-hating-the-movie-because-it's-NEVER-as-good. My latest trip down that lane was with The Lovely Bones.

  2. You weren't in a collision were you?? I sure hope not!

Since having the baby, I've been drinking Welch's grape juice like a crazy lady. It's the only grape juice that tastes like grapes and my body is craving the sugar boost.

Have you seen "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying"? It is a fantastic musical. I think it's being remade, not sure who will star.
